Shipping Manager for Existing Merchants
Shipping Manager for Existing Merchants
If you’re already selling with Fruugo, Shipping Manager will replace the shipping template that we used to ask merchants to populate. Rather than share the template with our team each time you require an update, you’ll be able to configure and edit your methods yourself.
Any methods you create in the new Shipping Manager will be chosen first by our customer facing systems to set shipping options and prices. Where a new method doesn’t exist, old methods will be used to set shipping options and prices.
We intend to fully remove support for old methods in the near future, so we recommend creating your new methods as soon as possible.
Access Shipping Manager
To use the module, first begin by logging in to Retailer Portal using your account details.
Once you’ve logged in, you can scroll down the left hand side of our portal to navigate to the Shipping Management module and click My Methods to begin populating your shipping methods.
When you land on the My Methods page for the first time, you’ll need to configure shipping methods for all of your existing methods as these will not be migrated automatically.
To add a new method, click on the Add method (+) button on the right hand side. This will take you to the Add a new shipping method page.
Add a new shipping method
On the Add a new shipping method page, you’ll see a number of fields requiring your attention.
The first thing you’ll need to select is which type of shipping method you want to create.
Field | What does this mean? |
---|---|
Carrier | Which Carrier will be sending the shipment e.g. DHL, FedEx, 4PX. We’ll show this to customers when they’re on a product page. If you’d like to suggest a carrier to be supported here, please raise an enquiry via our Technical Support Desk using your Fruugo email and password. |
Service | The type of service provided by the carrier e.g. Standard or Express. We’ll show this to customers when they’re on a product page. |
Is service tracked? | Indicates whether or not the customer will receive tracking information. |
Delivery Duty Paid | Indicates whether or not the shipment will be shipped Delivery Duty Paid (DDP). |
Add a new shipping route
You can populate your shipping route under Add Shipping Route.
Within your shipping route, the From country will always be the country that your merchant account is located. You are then able to add destination countries to your route by clicking on the To country button. You can either select individual countries or entire regions.
The available countries in this list are determined by the Carrier and Service selection above. For example, if you chose a Domestic service and your From country is United Kingdom, you will only be able to select the United Kingdom as your To country. Similarly, if you select an international service, the United Kingdom will not be available to select in To country.
Note that you are able to add multiple routes to a method by clicking on the Add route button below your current route once you have completed your pricing model.
After completing your To country selection for your shipping route, you are required to specify the Minimum estimated delivery in days and Maximum estimated delivery in days. This information will be used to provide customers with a delivery window on the product page.
Add a pricing model
You are able to choose from a range of Pricing models for your route:
Price based
Weight based
Flat rate
Quantity based
Once you select which Pricing model you would like to apply for this route, you can input the values and proceed with your method. For non-flat rate pricing models, you are able to click Add another pricing tier to ensure all values are covered.
For more information on how our shipping Pricing models work, please click here.
Add a route restriction
You are also able to add a route restriction for your route. These are optional, and although you can add multiple restrictions to a route, they cannot overlap or be of the same pricing model. You are able to specify a range of values, for example weight or quantity, that will not use the configured pricing model for this route.
Add another route
You are able to add more than one route to a method. Click Add another route to add additional To countries if required and then update your Pricing model accordingly.
For example, you may use DHL as your carrier and their International Service for both Germany and Australia, but would like to specify different estimated delivery in days and pricing models for these countries.
Save and close your shipping method
Once you’ve completed your routes and pricing models, you can click Save & Close to save this shipping method to your account.
Our system will automatically check for conflicting routes, restrictions, and methods to ensure you’ve created a valid shipping method. If the method has been saved successfully, you can click Back to list to view all of your methods or Add another method to add a new shipping method. Please allow up to 48 hours for your method to be visible to customers on our marketplace.
Edit an existing shipping method
If you need to edit an existing method, you can either click on a shipping method card or click on the ellipsis button and select Edit. This will open your method and the fields will now be editable. Don’t worry, our system will automatically check for errors or overlapping routes when you click Save & Close. From here, you can return to your list of shipping methods.
Once you have saved the method, please allow up to 48 hours for your changes to be visible to customers on our marketplace.
Disable an existing method
If you need to remove or no longer require a shipping method, you can either click on a shipping method card or click on the ellipsis button and select Disable. Disabling a method will mean that customers will no longer be able to select this method at checkout.
Please note that if you disable the only active method for a country, your products will not be visible to customers on our marketplace.
Once you have disabled a method, please allow up to 48 hours for your changes to be visible to customers on our marketplace.
