Managing your product catalogue
Manual File Upload
WARNING: You must upload your entire product catalogue, every time.
The file you are uploading is considered to be the absolute source of truth. Any products/SKUs missing from the upload will be deleted from your Fruugo catalogue. After deletion, these products cannot be brought back, they must be recreated.
WARNING: After initial upload of your products, you must use your existing template file to update your catalogue. Starting from a fresh file every time increases the chances of a product/sku being missed and then removed from your Fruugo catalogue.

Background
During your application, you will have been asked to select your “Data integration platform”. If you selected “Manual file upload”, you will have an “Add Products” button in the top right of My Catalogue.
If this button is not visible, you have not selected this option, and this guide will not be applicable to you.
Adding your first products
This is for users who have not yet uploaded any product data. If you have existing product data, skip to updating your existing catalogue.
Before you begin
Attribute mapping
You can access your current attribute mapping at any time, to review, or make changes
An attribute can only be mapped to one Fruugo Attribute.
Changes to mappings will effect all products/SKUs in your catalogue
You will be asked to map any custom attributes you wish to upload to the standard Fruugo attributes.
The Attribute1, Attribute2, etc, names in the Attribute (left) column correspond to the same fields in the template file.
You can map as many of the 10 available fields as you require - including none.
Attributes are optional and may not apply to every product/SKU in your catalogue and can be left blank when appropriate - e.g. “clasp type” does not likely apply to furniture.
Fruugo File Upload Template
You can download an empty File Upload Template at any time by clicking the “Download Template” button.
We strongly recommend that you use Excel to complete the spreadsheet. Other tools are not supported and will likely cause issues.
The Fruugo File Upload Template spreadsheet contains extensive use of formulas and data validation to help ensure you provide the data in the correct format. Whilst all care has been taken to ensure that users cannot enter the wrong data, attempts to alter the structure of the document will cause problems when uploading your product catalogue in to Fruugo.
Mandatory fields are highlighted in Blue.
We recommend that you fill in every column for each product.
If adding many records, the spreadsheet may run slowly when data validation is in progress. Please be patient.
Review the full Fruugo category tree by viewing the 'Fruugo Categories - Read Only' sheet.
Familiarise yourself with the layout of the template file before entering any data.
Entering your product data for the first time
Save this file frequently to avoid data loss
Use sheet 'Enter Data Here' to enter your product data. We recommend entering 'ProductId' (Column A) and 'SkuId' (Column B) first. These should be unique, or a unique combination, for each product/SKU.
Selecting a category
Fruugo Categories are a tree structure, with branches (the intermediary sub-categories) and leaves (the final sub-category). Only leaf nodes are valid categories. You can see all possible Fruugo Categories on the 'Fruugo Categories - Read Only' sheet.
When selecting a category, select each level in turn, starting with the 'Master Category' (Column F). Once selected, the options in 'Sub-category level 2' (Column G) will update accordingly. Continue selecting options until 'Valid category?' (Column M) reads VALID and is highlighted green, see below.
If a category selection is invalid, Column M will read INVALID and highlighted in red
Column M will show “INVALID” in two scenarios
You have not selected all required sub-categories. This is shown in the example above when the final leaf node has not been selected, e.g. where Column I is missing “Bird Cage Bird Baths” from Row 2.
If you have changed a higher level sub-category without clearing the choices at the lower levels. E.g. If you change the Master Category, you must clear, and then reselect, all other sub-categories for that product.
If you are entering multiple products or SKUs in to the same category, you can copy and paste the selections between rows.
Entering Attributes
Data entered in to Columns AB to AK (Attribute1, Attribute2, …, Attribute10) should match the attribute mapping you have previously set up.
Remember, attributes are optional and may not apply to every product/SKU in your catalogue and can be left blank when appropriate - e.g. “clasp type” does not likely apply to furniture.

Verifying your product data
Once you have entered all your products/SKUs, please review your data and ensure it is accurate to the best of your knowledge
