Submission of Data
Feed Manager will submit an update to Merchant listings once a day. More frequent submissions can be made but this will require the Merchant to be a contracted Feed Manager customer.
If Merchants provide a means of retrieving their product data automatically (through URL, shared folder or similar) , then our submission will be based on the latest product data contained in that file/folder.
Merchants must confirm the most appropriate time of day to process their data.
Feed Manager will advise Merchants if the file fails, is not present or cannot be processed. It is the Merchant’s responsibility to fix whatever has caused the problem. Failure to do so within 3 business days will be notified to Fruugo as the data will be deemed stale. Feed Manager will then respond to any requests from Fruugo in response.
Should Merchants provide information in a self-maintained offline file, Feed Mananger will use the latest version which has been provided.
Such updates should always be sent to the Feed Manager support email address below.
It is not Feed Manager’s responsibility to update information in standing files, nor to amend stock quantities provided.
What is Listed
Only products that are Fruugo compliant will be submitted. Reasons why products will not be sent will include (but not be limited to) the following:
- Out of stock items
- Products witn no valid GTIN (unless Merchant has agreed with Fruugo that the products concerned are exempt from this requirement).
- Products that do not contain a sufficiently large image (minimum 400 pixels along the shortest dimension)
- Products that are editorially non-compliant for content and/or policy violations
Feed Manager will not engage in dialogue about non-submitted products. Product error reporting is available as a contracted Feed Manager customer.
Content Changes and Additions
Merchant source content will often be shaped to meet Fruugo’s precise requirements. These changes can include (but are not limited to): creation of parent IDs to group like products; standardisation of titles ; removal of unacceptable content in titles and/or descriptions ; amendment of non standard or unacceptable phrases in colours, sizes or other attribute fields.
These changes are done to ensure that the products can be processed by Fruugo. Unless wrong, these will not be changed without jeopardising the integrity of the overall submission. Further optimisation services are available to contracted Feed Manager customers.
Feed Manager will always supply Fruugo with a taxonomy (categorisation) of Merchant products. These are agreed with Fruugo as the most appropriate place to put the products in their catalogue.
Shipping
Merchants must supply Fruugo direct with their shipping policies across the territories they want to target using Fruugo’s Shipping Template. Feed Manager is not involved in this process.
However, should Merchants elect for a weight based shipping policy, it is the Merchant’s responsibility to supply weights for their products. Weight units must be consistent across all products (for instance kg, lbs)
Feed Manager will set a default weight of 1kg if no (valid) weights are supplied by the Merchant.
Merchant Exclusions
Merchants can instruct us not to list items on Fruugo. These instructions must be in writing with back up spreadsheets if required. Merchants can restrict products by any/all of the following (as long as they are not contradictory):
- Specific SKU (product ID)
- Category (product type)
- Brand
- Keyword in product title
Merchant Holidays
Merchants cannot pause their shop on Fruugo, but Feed Manager can insert a “Lead Time to Ship” value that reflects the time that the Merchant is not available to fulfill an order.
The Merchant must provide details in writing of the period of holiday involved.
Applicable Sales Taxes (VAT or similar)
It is the merchant’s responsibility to inform Feed Manager of the rate of sales tax included in the prices of their products. If that is a universal rate, then that does not need to appear in the source data, as Feed Manager will set that value on the account.
However, if there are variable sales tax rates across products, that information must be supplied by merchants; either through their source data within a “tax rate” field (numeric values only), or through submission of a separate sku/tax rate file that Feed Manager can process.
Contact address
Merchants should contact support@feedmanager.co.uk for any queries concerning issues on listings only.
Fruugo customer service should be contacted for all other Merchant queries including any issues with customer orders, feedback, invoicing, and all other aspects of their active Fruugo Merchant store.
