The platform automates the critical day-to-day operations of selling on Fruugo, eliminating manual data entry and reducing fulfillment errors.
Order Management -- IDA Connect automatically pulls pending orders from Fruugo, transforms them into Shopify-compatible orders, and pushes them into the retailer's Shopify store for processing. Once fulfilled in Shopify, the platform sends shipment confirmations, tracking codes, and tracking URLs back to Fruugo automatically.
Inventory and Price Synchronization -- Stock levels and pricing are kept in sync between Shopify and Fruugo. The platform supports individual and bulk stock/price updates, ensuring that product availability on Fruugo always reflects the retailer's actual inventory. This helps prevent overselling and stockout issues.
Product Catalog Management -- Retailers can push product data from Shopify to Fruugo, including product creation and updates. The platform supports Fruugo's category taxonomy, allowing proper product classification for Fruugo's 40+ country marketplaces.
Cancellation and Returns Processing -- IDA Connect handles order cancellations originating from both the Fruugo side and the Shopify side, keeping both systems in sync. It also processes returns and return line items, automating what is typically a manual and error-prone workflow.
Carrier Matching -- The platform includes custom carrier matching logic, allowing retailers to map their shipping carriers to Fruugo's accepted carrier list, ensuring accurate tracking information is passed through to customers.
Fulfillment Automation -- When orders are fulfilled in Shopify, IDA Connect automatically confirms the order on Fruugo, creates shipment records, and updates tracking information, closing the loop on the order lifecycle.
The platform requires no developer knowledge and connects via Fruugo's Merchant ID and API credentials from the Fruugo Retailer Portal. IDA Connect supports Fruugo as a full sales channel alongside other marketplaces such as The Iconic, David Jones, Zalora, Hard to Find (HTF), The Block Shop, and Marketplacer, giving retailers a single hub to manage multi-marketplace operations.
Set-Up
The typical onboarding process involves three steps:
The retailer creates an IDA Connect account and connects their Shopify store via OAuth.
Add Fruugo as a sales channel by entering their Fruugo Merchant ID, API username, and password from the Fruugo Retailer Portal.
IDA Connect verifies the credentials, triggers an initial product sync to match SKUs between Shopify and Fruugo, and automatically enables order, inventory, and fulfillment syncing.
The entire setup requires no developer knowledge and takes just a few minutes, after which the retailer can optionally fine-tune settings like commission rates, reserved stock amounts, and carrier mappings.
